Job Posting:  Business Strategy Analyst for The American Theological Library
Association (ATLA)

 

The American Theological Library Association (ATLA) seeks qualified
applicants for a position as Business Strategy Analyst for ATLA's Department
of Business Development. The Business Strategy Analyst is a key member of
the team responsible for meeting ATLA's revenue and content development
objectives for products in ATLA's sales and marketing initiatives in
existing, targeted, and emerging markets. This position will support efforts
to build ATLA's diverse and growing collection of products and services
supporting the study of religion and theology to meet the needs of
libraries, librarians, scholars, students, clergy, and laypeople.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

.Evaluate new business ideas and opportunities and analyze market trends and
drivers across products, markets and segments.

.Support efforts for market analysis, growth opportunities and new product
development.

.Prepare, design, and execute market research surveys and summarize the
results.

.Conduct focus groups, user needs assessments and interviews with existing
and potential audiences.

.Support content development, licensing and product sales research
initiatives.

.Produce research reports, scenario plans, and business mapping for existing
and new products. 

.Develop product launching plans, including concept design and alpha and
beta modules.

.Research funding opportunities and support grant investigation and
proposals.

.Synthesize large quantitative and qualitative data sets and present
statistical findings in graphical and written formats.

.Represent ATLA at conferences and other public facing events.

.Participate in other special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

.Master's Degree in Business, Product Development, Library and/or
Information Science or demonstrable experience in publishing or non-profit
association.

.At least three (3) years of market research and/or business or product
development experience. 

.Organized and detail oriented. 

.Strong written communication skills.

.Conscientious and meticulous, with a proven ability to operate at a
consistently high level, producing quality, detail-oriented work.

.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 

.Stellar research, writing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills,
including excellent telephone, email, and conversation manner.

.Proven experience developing high quality reports and thoughtful
presentations.

.Proven track record of identifying, researching, developing and responding
to grant and other revenue opportunities.

.Academic and professional background in religion, and/or experience
marketing products and services to libraries, clergy, congregations, and
communities of worship preferred.
