[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Advice on new upgrade

Here are some, at least partial, answers to your questions:

 1. You can boost collection-level records relative to everything else
by setting /AppConfig[:solr_params]/ in your config.rb file to
something like /{ "bq" => "level:collection^1.25" }/ or add that in
if you're already setting other Solr parameters. After a restart
(re-indexing should not be required) it should have some effect, in
both the staff and public interfaces. Increasing the number after
the ^ symbol increases the boost. But take it too far and, for a
query that returns lots of collections, you may find a lot of
not-very-relevant collections crowding everything else out from the
    first several pages.
 2. Do you mean you would like the "Citation" button in the public user
interface to display the contents of preferred citation notes you've
added in the staff interface (or have been imported from EAD
containing prefercite)? That can be done, via a plug-in, but it is
too complicated (at least the way we did it, with different rules
for different levels, and overriding the standard JavaScript) to
explain in an email. I've been meaning to split up our
customizations into separate plug-ins, and put them on GitHub, but
haven't got round to it yet. Maybe someone else has something you
    can use off-the-shelf?
 3. Log in to your staff interface (you need to be an admin to do the
following), click the drop-down arrow next to your username in the
    top-right corner, and select /Repository Preferences/. Enable
    /Pre-populate Records/ and save. Then go to /Browse > Resources/,
and there should be a button labelled /Edit Default Values/. Click
on that and select /Resource/. Here you can set the language to
English, and anything else you don't want to fill in every time you
create a new collection. Save, then repeat for /Resource Component/.
If you have multiple repositories I think you have to repeat this
entire process for every one, as I do not think it works globally.

Andrew.
