Ah, thanks for the explanation. I think you may want to do this a different way. The more usual way to handle this would be to use the Related Accessions sub-record (or the Related Resources sub-record if you're doing this from the Accession side). You can link as many accessions as you want that way, and they'll also work as actual links to the accession records. The user manual has some information about this at https://docs.archivesspace.org/Default.htm#SubRecsRelatedAccessions.htm.

The identifier field in a resource record would usually be for the call number or anything else you use to number/uniquely identify the collection itself.

I was wondering if I would get this question and please correct us if we are doing something wrong.

On the collection level, we are putting the accessions that make up the collection in the identifier fields.  I attached an example.  And if there were more than 4 we would put the rest of the accessions in the Repository Processing Note.  This helps us because in our old database collections could only be put in one accession at time. You couldn't intermingle the accessions within a collection like you can with ArchiveSpace. It just lets us know the accessions in the collection.

So, I guess there is a plug-in for this if this is how we wanted to proceed?  I haven't heard from anybody yet.

Hi Daniel,

This is the kind of thing that you could probably do with a plugin and others on here could give you some guidance on that. I'm curious, though, why you want to add another field for identifier. Each box can take up to something like 50 characters. I'm interested to know your use case and how you need to be able to represent your identifiers.
