What's Covered:
Since their formative years, Google's activities have shaped the information literacy skills and user expectations of two generations. For better or worse, undoubtedly Google has had a ripple effect across the entire information community, and to remain competitive, the information community needs to know what's coming next from Google!

In this 90-minute webinar, John Blossom provides his annual update on Google activities and their significance to the information community, including:
Recent acquisition activity and the implied significance (Emu, Directr, Next Labs, Titan Aerospace, Skybox, Alpental Technologies, Divide, Songza, drawElements, and more).
Global policy, including the European Courts' ruling on the right to be forgotten, and net neutrality.
New devices and their impact, including Android and wearable technology, Android's and Chromecast's multiple screens, Nest Thermostats, and Google Chromebooks.
Data and deep learning initiatives, including the Google Healthy Data Project and Google's acquisition of Deepmind.
Changes to Chrome OS/Chrome browser, including the revamping of Gmail, improvements to Google Docs on mobile devices, notifications, and Google Stars (formerly Google Collections).
Google in the context of its competitors—Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Facebook.
Join us on Wednesday, September 17, for this eagerly anticipated annual update on what Google is working on and the potential ripple effects felt from those activities.
