NFAIS Workshop on Reinventing Content, Discovery and Delivery for Today's 

Academic Environment.  Registration Closes at 12:00pm on May 24th.  

 

Registration discounts for the NFAIS workshop, Reinventing Content,
Discovery and Delivery for Today's Academic Environment, scheduled for May
25th in Philadelphia, PA will close at noon on Tuesday, May 24th. This
one-day workshop will take a look at how innovative content providers across
all subject disciplines are meeting the information needs on today's
academic campuses. Highlights include:

 

.         A look at how traditional journal publishers and database
producers are re-inventing their content.  Speakers include representatives
from Alexander Street Press, Thomson Reuters Healthcare & Science, the
American Chemical Society/CAS and RIPM Retrospective Index of Music
Periodicals 1800-1950.

 

*	An overview of e-books, e-textbooks, and the re-invention of the
learning experience. Speakers include representatives from Wiley Plus,
Pearson, Xplana, and M&C Life Sciences, Inc.

 

*	A look at new sophisticated information discovery and delivery
platforms such as MindTapT from Cengage Learning and SciVerseR from
Elsevier.

 

*	A discussion of the role of books in a digital world and the
technologies and business models that enable them by Eric Hellman,
President, Gluejar, Inc.
