[Archivesspace_Users_Group] embedding digital object thumbnails in PUI

I just tried things out in the sandbox, and those instructions still appear to work (although they could certainly be updated!).

Here's an example that I just added:  http://test.archivesspace.org/repositories/2/archival_objects/22461 (and on the staff side, http://test.archivesspace.org/staff/digital_objects/752#tree::digital_object_752)

In your second screenshot, it looks like the link might be active but the thumbnail image is unable to load.  Is the URL that you're using for the image accessible from anywhere?  Do the 2 URLs in the above digital object work in your instance?

Last, I'm not sure about this, but I think that ASpace might just try to embed a thumbnail if the file extension is a jpeg or a gif.  I thought this also happened in the staff interface, but I don't see that behavior in the sandbox, so I could be mistaken about that.

We have recently begun working in a development instance of ASpace v2.8. I am able to successfully display the generic digital object link in a resource record:

Instead I get this:

I've tried following the instructions for adding 2 file versions of the URI--the last one with the setting XLink Show Attribute=embed. I've also tried a single URI with the XLink Show Attribute=embed -- neither of these options work.

Might there be a PUI configuration setting that needs to be changed from the default in order to enable the thumbnail functionality.

I'd appreciate any guidance you can offer.
