Are the only users for which you are unable to "Edit groups" other administrators? If so, it looks like this was a change introduced by this pull request: https://github.com/archivesspace/archivesspace/commit/29bd91135626fb6a911bf65269167f6a9c4d79cd#diff-a3896310fef308a3755090d3590e0ce7

From the commit message:

"Prevents group assignment for 'admin' users. They already have all the
privileges so groups are unnecessary, but this prevents a side effect
where an 'admin' user (including the global admin) can lose admin group
permissions if they are assigned to a group by another admin level user."

Interesting. We’re still on 2.3.2 on production, and we were going to skip 2.4 entirely, so I haven’t done any testing on those versions.

I should have attached a screenshot, so I have now. Any insight on why this might be happening?

    I do see that same thing under 2.4.1 as well. I have the same DB running under 2.5 and 2.41 and I can't touch the same users in both versions.

    Hi all,

    I’m testing out version 2.5.0 and I’m noticing that I can’t “Edit Groups” for some members under the “Manage User Access” page. I am logged in as an admin user, and logging in as a different admin user doesn’t help.

    I also checked on the sandbox.archivesspace.org<http://sandbox.archivesspace.org> installation and noticed that the one user available can’t edit their own groups either.

    Anyone else seeing this?
