[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Searches in PUI fail when characters are present

We are in the process of implementing the PUI with v2.4.1 and have encountered a problem with searches failing when they include square brackets “[]” or a forward slash “/” . This occurs in the PUI but not in the Admin interface. It appears that this issue was reported fixed:

However, the issue is obviously still there – our developer extracted the PUI solr query and ran it in solr admin: without edismax the query fails.
