[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Agent Link Date EAD Export

Thank you for the tip to include the date in the Name Form sub-record. That seems to have solved my issue, though that does mean I will still have to do the legwork to move all of that data. But it's a better alternative!

Thanks again,
Danielle

Hi Danielle,

If you include exist dates in the Dates field of the Name Forms subrecord, those dates should appear in your EAD exports.

I believe you can also provide whatever name string you'd like to export in EAD in the Sort Name field. By default the Sort Name value is auto-generated, but you can override the default and type in whatever string you want in Sort Name.

Even so, it would be nice if the Dates of Existence were used in auto-generating the Sort Name value... I'm not sure if there is a feature request for this, but I can't find one at first glance.

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Agent Link Date EAD Export

Hello all,

I have discovered why agent link existence dates don't export when exporting EAD, but I was wondering if anyone has sorted out a workaround for this issue? We are using the EAD 2002 export with container indicators and no DAO tags.

The only thing I can think of to do is to add the date to the end of the authority text, either instead of in the existence date fields, or in addition. That doesn't seem ideal, and will probably be time consuming to do, so I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone had found a workaround for the issue before I proceeded with that plan.

Thanks,
