[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Having trouble with permission to Manage Top Containers

Hi Kari and Laurel,
There is a separate permission for delete/bulk update top container records (bulk update is the equivalent to the Manage Top Containers area) - it appearing for users with this level of permissions was fixed in https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/AR-1559. If you assign that permission to a user, do they get that menu item?

Subject: Re: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Having trouble with permission to Manage Top Containers
Hi Kari,
We experienced this, and through trial and error discovered (I think) that there is a logic mismatch at work in those permissions. The only way someone can see the Manage Top Container option through the cogwheel is if they also have a the "Manage this Repository (change groups and other settings)" box checked. This has caused us some inconvenience because if we want someone to be able to create/update/delete top containers, it stands to reason we would also like them to be able to use the Manage Top Containers tool and all its functionality. But you have to basically make them a repository manager to do so, which is a whole other layer of permissions.
An issue (if it hasn't already been reported) for the Staff Interface group? I'd love to stand corrected though and learn if I am missing another obvious option here, or if there is other reasoning at work.
Laurel

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Having trouble with permission to Manage Top Containers
Hello,
We have a permission group with:
create/update top container records &
create/update/delete container profile records
However, users with this permission group do not have Manage Top Container as an option in the cogwheel menu to the right of the Repo Name.
Thoughts? We are hosted by LYRASIS and recently upgraded to 2.1.7. Does it take a long time for the permissions to be changed? We did this on Friday and again yesterday afternoon but no changes for that user.
Thanks for suggestions, help.
Kari
