Hello Archives Space Group,
If your institution recently migrated or are in the process of migrating to Archives Space then I am wondering if you might be interested in joining me for a panel discussion at SAA in 2018. I hope for this panel to address our institutions’ migration process, hurdles encountered along the way, and fixes made in order to facilitate a smooth migration (or as smooth as you could render)?

I know that this is short notice, we are in the midst of migration at our University ourselves, but I do not want to pass up the opportunity to present on this important topic and to perhaps share some lessons learned to others who may be getting ready to migrate.

Currently, I have myself, who can talk to the planning and implementation of our migration from Archon to Archives Space, a member from VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) who is willing to share her recent migration from Archivist's Toolkit to Archives Space, and our programmer, who can address the 1's and 0's of our migration process.

Varied former database platforms may offer more traffic for this potential presentation so please do not feel that you have to be migrating from either Archon or Archivists Toolkit. If this sounds interesting to you, can you respond asap to this message with your contact information, migration database and what you think SAA attendees would benefit from hearing from your lessons learned? I would be overjoyed at the prospect of the opportunity to present as a group at SAA this coming year and since the deadline is tonight, I will finalize my proposal by 8pm.

Cheers,

Christina R. Luers, CA
