[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Barcodes

Hi Sarah,

I had to start barcoding our collections this past fall and found the fastest and easiest way to get started was with the help of our main library tech services department. They were fine with giving me some barcodes and will consider the archives’ needs when they need to order more. Fortunately the barcodes read “University of Hartford Libraries” of which the archives are a part, so there is no problem there. If your library colleagues don’t mind sharing resources, this may be the quick and easy way to go.

Best,

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Barcodes

Hello all,

This question may be a bit basic, but I'll ask anyways. I am curious how organizations are generating your barcodes for containers? We have not adopted a barcode system here at Union, however we may do so in the future.

Thoughts and advice on an easy and preferably free route to barcoding are welcomed [all other advice welcomed as well :)].

Thank you!

~Sarah Oswald
