Thanks, Brad. Yes, using a UDF might be our best option.

Best,

Jordon

Hi, Jordon,

You can use the user-defined fields in ArchivesSpace to record appraisal information. Indeed, recording that kind of information is what we use for illustrating user-defined fields in the User Manual (see https://docs.archivesspace.org/Default.htm#SubRecsUserDefined.htm%3FTocPath%3DManaging%2520Accessions%2520%7C_____21).

This, of course, does not answer your question about how many others are recording appraisal info, which I am curious to know as well.

Brad

Hello,

Is there a text field in ASpace to record appraisal comments? I'm not seeing one. Right now we're putting our frank evaluations of the quality of a collection we acquire in the "Processing plan" field because these comments provide context for decisions about processing levels (also recorded in that field). Curious if others record this kind of information, and if so, where. The "Appraisal" event is overkill for our purposes.

Thanks,

Jordon
