Yes, I meant in the scope/contents and the historical note, at least there is an opportunity to give information describing the collection and people associated with it.   You have a good point, I just meant that at least the agent-creators are all accessible in the appropriate search, whereas the agent-subjects are not retrieved in a subject search, which does bring into question the system designers’ inclusion of the field. What do you mean by "free text notes" ?  Do you mean things like the historical sketch and the scope and content note?  If so, this doesn't seem very adequate to me.  It seems to me that it should be pretty easy to tell who the main creator of a thing is without having to read through detailed notes.  That seems like basic information that should be front and center.
