Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear you're having issues. First suggestion: is MySQL server running? (if you're using a local MySql server...)
The best way to see what's going on is to look at the archivesspace.out log file. Errors with be reported with a "ERROR: ", so look for that.
also, you can do:
tail -f logs/archivesspace.out ( linux)
Get-Content logs\archivesspace.out -Wait (powershell )
( for basic non-powershell windows cmd, I don't know what people do? Does anyone have any suggestions? )
Then try and go to ArchivesSpace interfaces in your browser or curl and see what's being spit out. Then send us an email of the error, and we can see what's up.
b,chris.

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Troubleshooting - 8081 no longer listens
Please pardon my noob-ness in your list.
I'm a sysadmin who's been tasked with troubleshooting Archivesspace which stopped answering properly on port 8081 after a reboot recently.
I can tell from netstat -vatn that the machine is not listening on that port, but I know it did in the past. But when I point a browser at {hostname}:8081, I get "We're sorry, but something went wrong." I'm at a loss to troubleshoot this. And I wish I had more information to go on. Any suggestions would rock. Thanks.
