Hm, I see here ( https://github.com/archivesspace/archivesspace/blob/master/backend/app/converters/ead_converter.rb#L83 ) in the importer code where certain character are being changed to underscores, so it should be pretty easy to change.


But, I honestly don't know why this was implemented in the first place... Poking around to see if something would break if there was a "/" in the component id.

Hi folks

I've been alerted to a minor issue from the EAD import:

Contents of element <unitid> - its separator values/punctuation change on import, e.g.

"Coll-31/2/EC.49" becomes "Coll_31_2_EC_49".

The slash is an integral part of the departmental unitid- is it possible to implement a fix to preserve slashes in certain instances?
