[Orcid-us] Is the list of ORCID-enabled systems ... too narrowly defined?

Hi everyone,

During the Q&A portion of the webinar Introducing ORCID for Research Administrators on Tuesday, I heard that the platform Activity Insight (which we use) can import publications metadata from ORCID profiles<https://www.digitalmeasures.com/activity-insight/docs/orcid.html> – which led me to wonder why it’s not listed among the ORCID-ENABLED SYSTEMS<https://members.orcid.org/api/orcid-enabled-systems>. Is it because it is one of the “third-party systems which support ORCID iDs in their workflows, but do not meet our requirements to provide support for an organization to supply and use their own API credentials, and/or do not collect validated ORCID iDs”? It is listed<https://orcid.org/members/001G0000022spLDIAY-digital-measures> among the member-integrators.

This isn’t so much a question about this particular product but that differentiation in listing … it made me wonder whether the differentiation is helpful and doesn’t actually cause universities etc. to overlook potentially useful ORCID utilizations.

Best,

Stefan
