successful candidate for this position will serve as Chief of the History of
Medicine Division (HMD) and direct and manage all activities of the
Division. This position is located within the Division of Library
Operations (LO), National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Institutes of
Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>As
Chief of the History of Medicine Division, you will manage the operations of
the Division including formulating, establishing and interpreting policies;
developing, analyzing and reviewing programs; developing and
implementing long-term and operational plans; developing budgetary
and staffing requirements; and formulating budget requests and managing
and overseeing budgetary expenditures.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

will develop and manage an overall Division strategy for reaching and informing
new audiences through promotion and outreach related to HMD
programs; oversee training and orientation for the Division; oversee
editorial review of HMD publications and staff contributions to the
professional literature; represent the NLM in various professional groups
and organizations; and initiate and manage partnership opportunities with
medical libraries, history associations, academia, foundations, and business
