What's Covered:

With the ever-changing face of information access and retrieval, the development of research skills continues to become increasingly important.

In this 90-minute NFAIS Webinar, join EBSCO's Kate Lawrence, Ithaka S+R's Christine Wolff and the University of Illinois' Lisa Hinchliffe, who will share the latest trends and insights on information literacy within academia. Christine Wolff, in particular, will report on the Ithaka S+R US Faculty Survey 2015 study while Kate Lawrence will discuss EBSCO's latest user study revealing heightened diversity in strategies for conducting research.

In this Webinar, January 10, 2017, attendees will learn:

*How faculty members' perceptions deviate from how library deans and directors view the role of the library, and the implications for these gaps;

*Why students are routinely rejecting pre-conceived notions about how research is supposed to be done, in favor of efficient products and processes that fit seamlessly into their lives;

*How student research habits have changed, and the necessary tools for researcher success;

*The role publishers and discovery services can play to bridge the research information gaps that may still be
necessary between academia and the scholarly communications community.

Presenters:
Kate Lawrence, Vice President, User Research, EBSCO
Christine Wolff, Survey Coordinator, Libraries and Scholarly Communication, Ithaka S+R
Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe, Professor/Coordinator for Information Literacy Services and Instruction, University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
