What's Covered:
The Internet-driven belief that information is (or should be) free has created a huge hurdle for all content providers to overcome, whether they are commercial or non-profit publishers, database producers, or similar entities. How does one create a viable value proposition in such an environment? How do information companies need to think about creating value and generating profit while also providing increased value to the information consumer? John Regazzi, Professor and Director of the Information Innovation Lab at Long Island University, will discuss:
The beginnings of Infonomics
The evolution of the Electronic Information Age
The challenges that have not been met (the consequences of not adapting to change)
New distribution channels and their impact
The New Information Order
