[nfais-l] NFAIS Mourns Death of Lisa Sick, Co-Chair Library Education Committee

It is with deep sadness that we report the recent sudden death on September
5, 2013 of Lisa C. Sick, Co-Chair of the NFAIS Library Education Committee
and a twenty-five year employee of the American Psychological Association
(APA).  Lisa spear-headed the creation and updating of the extensive
database resource pages that appear on the NFAIS web site for use by
librarians. She was presented with the Ann Marie Cunningham Memorial Award
in 2011 for her outstanding service to NFAIS. 

 

Lisa is survived by her husband, Ken, and two children, Nathan and Julia.
She was a longtime resident of Arlington County, Virginia and was an ardent
bird-watcher. Lisa loved watching the dolphins off the Outer Banks, so
contributions in her memory may be made to the Outer Banks Center for

Lisa's memorial service is being held today. Our condolences are sent to her
family, friends, and many co-workers at APA. Lisa will be sorely missed by
all who loved and knew her.
