STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR THE 2011 NFAIS ANNUAL CONFERENCE


 

Not yet registered for the 2011 NFAIS Annual Conference, Taming the
Information Tsunami: The New World of Discovery?  Don't worry.

The program will bring together publishers, librarians, and technology
developers representing all market sectors from around the globe to discuss
how they are responding to the daunting challenge of identifying, acquiring,
processing, transmitting, and storing incredible amounts of digital content
across all media and across a growing amount of foreign languages - a
challenge that will continue into the foreseeable future as the volume of
information continues to escalate. Practical approaches currently being
implemented will be discussed along with emerging technologies  that hold
promise for the future such as augmented reality, machine thinking, semantic

Ben Shneiderman, Professor and Founding Director of the Human-Computer
Interaction Laboratory, University of Maryland

 

.          Examples of the current and emerging technologies - cloud

automatic translation -  that are shaping the future of information
discovery
