NFAIS Members Invited to Attend 2011 Annual Conference of the Association of
American University Presses

NFAIS Members are invited to attend the 2011 Annual Meeting of the
Association of American University Presses at the AAUP member rate. The
meeting, The Next Wave: Toward a Culture of Collaboration, is scheduled to
take place from June 2-5, 2011 in Baltimore, MD, at the Baltimore Marriott
Waterfront Hotel. Daily rates for commuters are also available.

The program will feature 4 plenary sessions on key subjects for publishing
today, including managing innovation and organizational change, trends in
copyright and intellectual property, and the future of the humanities.
Thirty concurrent sessions will offer even more variety, addressing such
topics as the confluence of print and digital publishing, improving websites
and metadata for online discovery, and models for supporting open access.
Session panelists will include representatives from AAUP member presses,
librarians, scholars, and industry experts.

A full preliminary program can be downloaded from the meeting website:
www.aaupnet.org/annualmeeting. I hope that you will be able to take
advantage of this great opportunity and I thank Peter Givler, AAUP Executive
Director, for the invitation.
