Subject: AAAS/Science is migrating to Atypon on August 24, 2021

Hello Jennifer,

AAAS is pleased to announce that all content hosted at sciencemag.org will be moving to Atypon’s online publishing platform, Literatum, at the end of this summer. We know that publisher migrations add to the workload of our already busy librarian customers, and we are making every effort to provide a seamless, transparent transition.

We would like your help. The account administrator at each member institution currently listed in our records will receive an activation email with instructions to access their institution's account on the new site. Would you please contact both MDL and ALI members to ensure that they have received this email? If they have any questions, please contact us at libraryrelations at aaas.org<mailto:libraryrelations at aaas.org>.

Here is the timeline to help your members prepare for the migration.

  * Wednesday August 11, 2021: Administrator Configuration Period begins
  * Tuesday, August 24, 2021: Scheduled launch of the new AAAS website and content platform on Atypon

What do your members need to do now?
No immediate action is required, and no content has been moved from HighWire yet. Your members current access is still active and there will be no changes for your patrons until August 24, 2021. At that time, our journal homepage URL will change from sciencemag.org to science.org. Permanent redirects will be in place to ensure continuity of access.

Ask your members to refer to the launch checklist<https://www.sciencemag.org/about/new-science-website/launch-checklist> and the migration FAQs<https://www.sciencemag.org/about/new-science-website/migration> on our website for further information.

What is the Administrator Configuration Period?
Beginning on August 11, site administrators will have access to the Atypon Institutional Administrative Portal. The account administrator at each member institution currently listed in our records will receive an activation email with instructions to access their institution's account on the new site. If your account administrator changes during the month of August, please notify scienceonline at aaas.org<mailto:scienceonline at aaas.org> so we can keep our records up to date during migration. We ask that you please activate your account as soon as possible to ensure access to the portal and to familiarize yourself with the new platform.

How can I access COUNTER usage data after the migration?
Your COUNTER reports will be available on HighWire until the move to Atypon on August 24. We encourage you to pull all historic usage statistics from HighWire before then. After the site is migrated, the COUNTER 4 reports for the HighWire platform will be available only as an archival ZIP file download on the new Atypon platform. These files should be available by September 28. From the launch date onward, usage data for the Atypon platform will be available via the Institutional Administrative Portal in COUNTER 5 format.

Whom can I contact if I have a question about the impact to my library?
If you need more assistance, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at libraryrelations at aaas.org<mailto:libraryrelations at aaas.org>.

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to sharing our new platform with you.

Sincerely,

Ryan Rexroth
