Hello everyone!

In December 2020, we launched the pilot of the Open Access Community Investment Program (OACIP)<https://www.lyrasis.org/content/Pages/oacip.aspx>, a project developed by LYRASIS in partnership with Transitioning Society Publications to Open Access<http://tspoa.org> (TSPOA) and Duke University Press<https://www.dukeupress.edu/>. OACIP's goal is to connect libraries, consortia, and other funders with non-profit publishers and journal editorial boards that need financial investments to sustain or transition to Open Access (OA) publishing.

OACIP's pilot phase launched with investment opportunities for two journals, showcasing aspects of each publishing program so that libraires and other funders can use the information to support their decisions about which OA programs to support.

We have received a positive response from the library community in spite of the economic consequences of the pandemic and would like to finish the pilot with funding for the two journals by June 30, 2021.

Learn More! Webinar Invitation
We invite you to learn more about the criteria-driven evaluation approach developed by OACIP to determine if investing in the participating OA journal programs is right for your institution. Speakers will be from the editorial boards and publishers of:

Environmental Humanities<https://www.lyrasis.org/content/Pages/product-details.aspx?pid=E5BB60F3-8435-EB11-80ED-00155DE5EC03>, an OA journal published by Duke University Press that is seeking investment to publish an additional OA journal issue each year for five years. As the field of environmental humanities continues its rapid growth and development, the Press and the Editors want to increase the journal's frequency in 2022 from two issues to three issues per year. Funding goal: $30,000/year for five years

Combinatorial Theory<https://www.lyrasis.org/content/Pages/product-details.aspx?pid=54583FF1-DB38-EB11-80ED-00155DE5EC03>, a new OA math journal created by editorial board members who recently left a large commercial publisher's journal and are re-directing their efforts. The new journal Combinatorial Theory will deepen and broaden the impact of its predecessor, with an inclusive vision that is international in scope under the leadership of a diverse editorial team that seeks top research papers from the global combinatorial community. Funding goal: $25,000/year for five years

Webinar Details:

Your institution or department can review the list of supporters and evaluate these two journal programs by visiting the LYRASIS Open Access Community Investment Program<https://www.lyrasis.org/content/Pages/oacip.aspx> webpage. If these investment opportunities are right for your organization, please email Sharla Lair at sharla.lair at lyrasis.org<mailto:sharla.lair at lyrasis.org> to pledge support and commit funds.
