Last fall, Lyrasis announced a new principle-aligned partnership with the University of Toronto Press to build a funding community in support of the Journal of City Climate Policy and Economy (JCCPE). JCCPE is a new Subscribe to Open peer-reviewed journal that publishes evidence-based policy and economics research in support of cities around the world as they focus on human-centered solutions to today?s most pressing climate challenges. C40 Cities is a network of mayors of nearly 100 world-leading cities collaborating to help limit global heating to 1.5 degrees C and build healthy, equitable and resilient communities. The C40 Centre for City Climate Policy and Economy supports JCCPE as it brings together a community of researchers, city practitioners, and leading economists to provide mayors and policy makers with the evidence, analysis and guidance needed to implement climate action policies. Since last fall many libraries around the world have come together to support this important new journal, but they still need more support so that they can reach their funding goal by March 31, 2023. Diamond OA which means that the journals publish immediately OA with no fees for authors or readers. OACIP is a community-driven framework that enables multiple stakeholders - including libraries of all types, academic departments, and funding agencies - to strategically evaluate and collectively fund open access content initiatives through an efficient process. OACIP doesn?t just bring together investment opportunities in one place, it also provides important and consistent information about those opportunities to support informed and principled investment decisions. Participating publishers respond to criteria-based questions about their OA program, and the responses are posted on the OACIP website. Using this approach, OACIP provides tailored matchmaking between nonprofit scholarly publishers that are seeking financial investments from funders (like libraries) that want to support OA publishing aligning with their mission and values. Funding Update for Current OACIP Participating Journals Thank you to all of the institutions that have already committed support for the following journals seeking investments through OACIP!
