Good morning Celeste,

 

  It looks as if the University of Washington will just be buying the
Religion sub-collection.  Hopefully there will be enough uptake among the
group to get to the next discount level.

Thanks for pointing this out. I will mention this to De Gruyter. They get
their information from the press, of course, and it may be that the press
reps are unaware of the pre-1923 content at these two sites since they
probably were not involved in putting it there.

 

Of the 2795 titles in the HUP ebook archives, 89 were published prior to
1923.

 

And as a reminder to all - the HUP ebook archives deadline is Friday, Aug.
29.

Hi Celeste,

 

  I'm pretty sure we will buy the Religion package, and I'm waiting to hear
if any selectors here want any other sub-collections.

 

  I'm afraid it's not quite accurate to see that all these titles are not
available online from another source.  I spot checked Religion and every
pre-1923 title is in Hathi Trust or the Internet Archive.

Hi All,

 

Here's a reminder of the approaching August 29, 2014 deadline to submit
orders for the Harvard University Press eBook Archives collections
(1896-2006) in order to get the most benefit from collective action. The
Archives offer has pricing with deepening discounts based on the total
dollar amount of orders gathered by August 29. The titles included in this
collection are out of print and not available online from any other source.

 

We currently are around $30,000 away from gathering $300,000 in purchases
and attaining the next level of discount that will bring the per title costs
to $38-$44, depending on the collections purchased.

 

The attached spreadsheet shows the title list and pricing for the individual
subject collections and the entire package of content. The reason for the
differences between the Canadian pricing/title list and the US pricing/title
list are due to several titles that HUP/DeGruyter cannot sell to Canadian
institutions because HUP has given exclusive Canadian distribution rights to
another entity.
