New Collaboration: IIIF and LYRASIS Learning

The International Image Interoperability Framework Consortium and LYRASIS are working together to create online training on IIIF. Between August - October 2020, look for new training on teaching with IIIF, IIIF in museum contexts, fun with IIIF, and more. New classes will be added to the LYRASIS online class schedule<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=pefralabb.0.0.64z577bab.0&id=preview&r=3&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lyrasis.org%2Fservices%2FPages%2FClasses.aspx>.

The first IIIF class coming up is IIIF's Tools for Teaching with Image-based Primary Sources<https://www.lyrasis.org/Content/Pages/Event-Details.aspx?Eid=F9077FDE-4DAA-EA11-80EB-00155DE5EC03> on 8/5/20.

As we work to develop more training, we want to hear from you. What online training related to IIIF would you like to see? What training would help you with IIIF at your institution? Email Meg O'Hearn<mailto:meg.ohearn at iiif.io>, Community and Events Coordinator, IIIF Consortium with your suggestions.

July Class Spotlight:

Change in VUCA Times: From Change Management to Change Readiness<https://www.lyrasis.org/Content/Pages/Event-Details.aspx?Eid=4B8A2DBD-8EF9-E911-80FE-00155D73CF3B>

July 22
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM ET

Librarians from all sectors in the profession know about change management. There is a plethora of literature and conference presentations devoted to advice on how libraries can better achieve change by applying one of multiple management models. While a well-thought out change management process can alleviate some of the pain points staff experience, this workshop communicates another approach that puts the focus on readiness rather than management.

This ninety-minute webinar introduces participants to change readiness, a set of practices in which staff develop a new change mindset that shifts the focus from treating every change as a static event that must be managed in order to be accepted and implemented to one in which staff accept that change is a constant, regular practice of the VUCA (volatile; uncertain; complex; ambiguous) environment in which we now exist. Attendees will explore change readiness practices such as:

  *   Thinking like a futurist
  *   Cross-boundary networking
  *   Strategically managing ambiguity
  *   Uncovering patterns
  *   What if questions

This webinar employs activities to engage attendees with change readiness practices that contribute to the development of the mindset.
At the end of the session, participants should be able to:
