This workshop is designed to impart basic tools, tips, and aids to participants to help them navigate current mandates to shelter in place or stay home. Participants will learn tactics and best practices for communicating with others when stress is high across the board. The instructor will cover creating new routines, managing child and elder care, keeping work/life balance in harmony, and maintaining productivity and positivity for those new to working from home. The session will allow for participants to share their thought processes in a safer space, free of judgement.

Instructor: Joy Stephens, Business Development Manager and Career Development Specialist, New Heights Academic & Leadership Consultant

Joy brings a unique and varied collection of work experiences to the table. While possessing dual Bachelor's of Science degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, as well as a Masters in Business Administration, Joy spent her 20+ years in Corporate America with companies like Proctor & Gamble and Kimberly Clark. She has worked in manufacturing, research and development, quality assurance, sales, sales management and corporate training. It was her experience in corporate training that helped her find her true passion and ultimately join New Heights as the Business Development Manager.

Joy is also a Board-Certified Life Coach, specializing in Career Development.  She focuses on executive and individual coaching, specifically in the area of Career Transitions, guiding individuals from one major life pathway to another. This includes coaching clients moving from college to the workplace, one career or industry to another, & individual contributor roles to leadership positions. She is also a key content creator for the company's Diversity, Inclusion and Equity workshop series. In that capacity, she has worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies, colleges and universities to conduct bias training, engage in innovative team building, assist in the creation and promotion of Employee Resource Groups and coach leadership teams on inclusivity and communication.
