It's really helpful to hear how others are approaching this important work, even though I imagine much will be contextual based on organizational structure and whether folks are hosted locally or through a service provider.</div><div><br></div><div>At NYU we have a standing administrator group that has similar responsibilities to those you've outlined: we communicate with our local users (e.g., general troubleshooting, information about outages/maintenance windows, information about new functionality), manage overall user management (e.g., on-boarding, off-boarding, permissions, training), manage overall system maintenance and upgrades (including testing of local plugins), maintain local documentation, and pursue occasional local development (pending priorities and resources). We're preparing for the first meeting of our local ArchivesSpace user group. Our Cambridge ArchivesSpace instance serves 75 users- the majority from Cambridge University Library but also from 29 other archive repositories across the city - and we want to involve
a subset of users in an active group to:<br>
<ul>
<li>make decisions on <span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255);display:inline">customisations that don't require development</span></li><li><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255);display:inline">consider desirable development</span></li><li><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255);display:inline">maintain data standards </span></li><li>help with data cleanup, training and peer support. </li></ul>
