<p class="MsoNormal">The Staff Interface Enhancement Group delivered its final recommendations at the end of December. You can view them at

https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ADC/pages/369557505/SIEWG+Final+Recommendations</a>. This was an incredibly large task and we want to thank the group’s fearless leader, Lydia Tang, as well as all of the individual group members for their substantial
work in examining, discussing, considering, gathering feedback, and writing up a vision for an improved staff interface for ArchivesSpace.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Now and in the coming months the ArchivesSpace program team is reviewing the recommendations and putting them together into a series of development projects. Once that’s done we’ll be working with the Development Prioritization subteam
to assign them priority levels. In addition there are a number of items that the group has recommended be put forth to the larger base of ArchivesSpace users or to outside consultants for further consideration before a development plan is made. In the coming
months, these will be put before you as well, in ways appropriate to the kind of issue to be considered. We are also very thankful that a number of members of the original group have agreed to stay on to help as questions arise or clarifications of approach
are needed.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As we have a sense of priorities and capacities we’ll assign projects to developers and begin getting work into the application. We expect that improvements based on the group’s recommendations will be included in every major release of
ArchivesSpace this year after our next anticipated release, in late January.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Some projects or individual features/fixes will be especially appropriate for community developers, or for financial support from individual or groups of institutions. We’ll be posting more information on these in the months to come, but
if you see something in the recommendations that you know your institution would like to be particularly involved in making happen, please let me know.<o:p></o:p></p>
