<a dir="ltr" href="https://github.com/archivesspace/archivesspace/blob/master/backend/app/exporters/serializers/mods.rb">
https://github.com/archivesspace/archivesspace/blob/master/backend/app/exporters/serializers/mods.rb</a>, it looks like ArchivesSpace exports all terms as a <mods:topic>, rather than conditionally by their term type as the MARC exporter does. -k</div>

<div>We recently created a subject in ArchivesSpace for a geographic location. All of the terms are type 'Geographic', but the MODS exporter interprets the subject terms as <mods:topic> instead of <mods:geographic>.</div>

<div>Has anyone else encountered this issue? We're wondering if it's specific to our instance, or if we need to change the MODS export code.</div>
