I believe Harvard has developed an Excel container list plug-in, <span style="color:windowtext">
, <b>aspace-import-excel</b></span>. I haven’t used it myself, but they have posted about it to this list and also have documentation available on Git Hub. Have you used Steady as a tool to transform Excel/CSV files into XML? That is a free and easy-to-use option, you just have to be able to make it a valid EAD file and import it into ASpace that way<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="color:#1F497D;margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo2">
Here at UC San Diego, we do all our container lists in Excel and run a Python script on them to transform them into XML. We merge the container list with a “stub” EAD record (just the mandatory fields completed with boilerplate data), import it into ASpace,
and then merge the list with a “good” resource record for the collection. If you have anyone tech-savvy on at your Library that has experience with Python we’d be happy to share our script.<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
