<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">I am writing to report on the ArchivesSpace Governance Board 4th Quarter meeting, a 2 hour conference call which was conducted June 2nd.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The board approved the nominations to the Governance board, and appointments to the Technical Advisory Council and User Advisory Council. We thanked the Nominations Committee,
chaired by Gerald (Jay) Gaidmore. Jay will send out an announcement of the election and appointment results once the Governance Board election is complete.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">We reviewed:

<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">the continued excellent work of TAC and UAC and thank the members for their dedicated participation<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">an operational update that indicates good progress on development work by HM, the creation of a core committers group and progress in our recruitment for a Community Engagement Coordinator
<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">a financial report that confirms we are on budget and in a strong financial position<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The board members thanked departing Board members Gerald (Jay) Gaidmore and Brian Schottlaender for their active and substantial service on the board.

<p class="MsoListParagraph"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph">Jay has served for two terms and has been on the board since its inception. As one of the inaugural board members his early insight and dedication were especially valuable. Some of Jay’s contributions include chairing the 2017 Nominating
Committee, serving as the Board liaison to the Technical Advisory Council, and representing the Governance Board in the ArchivesSpace Program Manager search.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph"><span lang="EN">Brian retired from his position as the Audrey Geisel University Librarian at UC San Diego (UCSD) on June 30 and thus is leaving the board but UCSD remains a partner and continues to be represented on the board.
</span>Brian played a leading role in the creation of the ArchivesSpace software and the ArchivesSpace community since the inception of the program. Brian served as a founding partner on the ArchivesSpace Governance Board with unstinting dedication and outstanding
participation. Brian was instrumental in creating the membership and governance models, recruiting colleagues to be charter members, and in bylaws creation.

<p class="MsoListParagraph"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Their contributions have played a critical role in the success of ArchivesSpace.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraph">The Board very much appreciates their commitment, skills and devotion to furthering the ArchivesSpace community.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">In closing, I am very happy to report that the ArchivesSpace membership organization is vibrant and is growing at a steady rate. Members are participating in all facets of
