<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">Since the majority of our finding aids are created by students we don’t take the time to teach them NACO and SACO rules. Instead, except for the donor, they enter information about suggested headings in the
Finding Aid Note field. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">We then export the MARCXML record from ArchivesSpace and import into OCLC. We then have catalogers use constant data and some macros to fix and/or enhance the descriptive fields in the record. The cataloger
refer to the record in ArchivesSpace to determine what authority headings (names and subjects) to set up and/or add to the record.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">To aid in cleaning up the errors in agent and subject files from our legacy records, the cataloger is searching headings in ArchivesSpace (cleaning up any errors encountered) and creating records for any new
headings. There’s also the option to use the LC/NAF Import plugin to download heading from LC to save some time.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
