Thank you for your help, Valerie.

There was an error with a <list> element. Once I found it and corrected the error, I could generate the PDF.

Thanks so much!

-Samantha

CAUTION - EXTERNAL:

Samantha,

Try exporting the same file as EAD. This is counter-intuitive, but the PDF process actually starts with EAD and then converts it to PDF with a stylesheet, so depending on your comfort level in validating EAD files it came make spotting the error easier when you see it in XML. I believe you’re looking for an issue with a <list> element, so that should help you narrow it down. I hope this helps!

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Issue with Generating PDF Finding Aid

Hello,

I'm trying to generate a PDF from an ArchivesSpace finding aid and I keep getting a long error message on the background jobs page that starts with this line:

org.apache.fop.fo.ValidationException: "fo:list-block" is missing child elements. Required content model: marker* (list-item)+ (See position 928:53)

I've gone through the finding aid looking for any missing elements but I can't find anything out of place. I'm generating other PDFs without any issues.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
