Dear all,
Here in Cambridge we run an AS implementation for a range of archive repositories, some of which are formally part of the University of Cambridge and some of which are not. ArchiveSearch, our discovery layer, includes data contributed by a range of organisations- several of which have their own policy statements on inclusion and diversifying collections. We would like to add a statement to ArchiveSearch about inclusion and harmful language in archival descriptions and also incorporate links to the catalogues providing end users/researchers with an easy way to propose changes or corrections to catalogue entries. This issue will be discussed at our next User Group meeting.
I've had a look at several ArchivesSpace sites and can see that many of you have already implemented similar approaches. I would be very interested in information about the volume of requests from end users to remediate catalogue descriptions or feedback you have received from your users if you would be willing to share your experiences. If you could also point me towards examples of policy statements (especially any for data aggregators) that would also be very useful.
Many thanks in advance and best wishes,
Natalie
