[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Batch uploading metadata from OAI Harvester

Hello,

I've been trying to figure out if there is any way to pull metadata from a
source with the OAI Harvester and then upload that metadata from the
Harvester into Archivesspace. I want to understand how metadata that the
Harvester pulls is then extracted and put into a description tool, Aspace
or any other?
I've searched around various sources trying to figure out what exactly it
is that the Harvester outputs.  Everything I can find relates to how you
can pull metadata *from* Aspace and other sources but nothing about what
the Harvester outputs or how/if that output could be easily uploaded to
Aspace.
Can anyone help me understand how the Harvester outputs metadata? A not
super technical resource would be welcome, if one is available.
