Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your feedback! Ed Busch added your idea into the JIRA ticket. https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/ANW-534 Keeping the username static makes a lot of sense.
On a tangential note, for people who are using LDAP, how do you handle people who aren’t affiliated with your institution? We sometimes have volunteers help with data entry, so it would be great to know of a workaround for them.
Thanks, all!
Lydia

Lydia, all –
ANW-534 could introduce challenges for our users and workflows. We use LDAP, and would want to prevent users from modifying usernames or passwords in the archivesspace UI.
Could user account editing be configurable, to accommodate LDAP workflows? For example, perhaps this could be configurable to admin users only, or on/off entirely. It could be helpful for admins to be able to edit usernames in the UI, but not necessarily all staff users.

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] seeking community input for JIRA tickets
Good afternoon, all!
The Development Prioritization subteam is seeking community input/discussion on the following JIRA tickets:
https://archivesspace.atlassian.net/browse/ANW-534<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__archivesspace.atlassian.net_browse_ANW-2D534&d=DwMFAg&c=nE__W8dFE-shTxStwXtp0A&r=lG1-HSCEGsZJf-_mV6BDLh4PvkC3fOv47rKbM_dbh1g&m=-IeuoyGl2NFFkVZJ3tKexIDyUaWAAf4sznY-P36w05U&s=mcxvBd-5eO4Qrd9wHp0xBXNTanLDvP57oDOBt8XSnwU&e=>
As a user, I want to directly edit / modify my user account and password
We are seeking information on which fields should not be editable by the user. See additional comments in the ticket.

As a repository manager, I want to be able to bulk delete Events using a checkbox on the Browse Events page.
Since Events can be automatically generated as a sort of verification measure, we are interested in hearing whether they should be delete-able.

Move Biographical / Historical Note from Additional Description Collapsed Menu
Currently, the Collection Overview view of the PUI has only DACS required notes in the main view. You have to click on “Additional Description” or “Expand All” in order to access Biog-Hist. One question is whether the “Additional Description” should be replaced by just having “see all/see less” for all elements, or just move the biog-hist only out or make its own accordion, or possibly enable users with repository manager levels of permission to set a customizable order of finding aid elements (this last option would require a new ticket).
Thoughts? Please feel free to share your thoughts by commenting and voting on the tickets and/or this member list!
