Library Technology Services, which supports the Harvard Library, is pleased to announce the availability of new functionality in the aspace-import-excel plugin, available on GitHub at https://github.com/harvard-library/aspace-import-excel<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__github.com_harvard-2Dlibrary_aspace-2Dimport-2Dexcel&d=DwMFAg&c=WO-RGvefibhHBZq3fL85hQ&r=5xWUzLrZrVLeTqs3CDoeRpPtLv1fRM04CCu4TDULrSY&m=VDeZTKvOdMA9ZMbFHCvH9yJVV-frn-Gl_Eb-h9cFl7A&s=eYLbYZkxBN-gM8dcth42UN4U2jqif7APsdEMK8NCBPo&e=> .

The new functionality allows you to ingest a spreadsheet that will create Digital Objects (and associated Files), and associate each Digital Object with an already-created Archival Object.

The user documentation for this new functionality is at https://github.com/harvard-library/aspace-import-excel/blob/master/user_documentation/USER_DOCUMENTATION.md .

The additional functionality was created in response to the needs of the Harvard Library archival community, and therefore does not address all cases, and uses, of Digital Objects, but we hope that it may be useful to other archivists in the ArchivesSpace community.

Note that this version, v2.1.2 (https://github.com/harvard-library/aspace-import-excel/releases/tag/v2.1.2 ), is only supported for v2.2.2 and higher of ArchivesSpace.

Pull requests welcome. If you encounter problems, please create an issue on the GitHub repository.

Cheers,
Bobbi Fox, Maintainer
