[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Timeout on merge

I am merging a rather large accession into an university group and I am unable to complete my task because of a timeout.  I am getting this error message:

{"db_error"=>["Database integrity constraint conflict: Java::ComMysqlJdbcExceptionsJdbc4::MySQLTransactionRollbackException: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction"]}

Is there a way to adjust the timeout limit on MySQL?
