As an application fueled by the enthusiasm and energy of an incredibly proactive community, ArchivesSpace development continues to grow and evolve, sometimes faster than it can keep up. And though each release is carefully examined and tested by our Testing subteam, bugs still manage to sneak their way into the code.
So, who ya gonna call? In this webinar, Jason Loeffler, Lydia Tang, Patrick Galligan, and Laney McGlohon will present an overview of an ArchivesSpace bug’s life cycle by examining the community’s approach to identifying, reporting, prioritizing, and fixing bugs. Jason will begin by describing what bugs are, Lydia will provide a demo on how anyone can submit a JIRA ticket, Patrick will share on the Development Prioritization subteam’s role, and Laney will finish by describing how the fix is designated into the code.
Please feel free to bring any questions you have.
Jason Loeffler (Technology Consultant, American Academy in Rome) is a developer with over 15 years of experience working with archives and digital collections. Jason is a member of the ArchivesSpace Technical Advisory Committee, the Integrations Subcommittee, and the Development Prioritization subteam.
Lydia Tang (Special Collections Archivist-Librarian, Michigan State University) has been heavily involved in ArchivesSpace activities. She currently serves on the User Advisory Council and is co-leader of the Development Prioritization subteam. She also has served on the Reports Sub-Committee and as chair of the ArchivesSpace Staff Interface Enhancement Working Group.
Patrick Galligan (Digital Archivist, Rockefeller Archive Center) oversaw the RAC's migration to ArchivesSpace from Archivists Toolkit, and is a member of the ArchivesSpace Technical Advisory Committee, the Integrations Subcommittee, and the Development Prioritization subteam.
Laney McGlohon (Technical Lead, ArchivesSpace) is an information scientist, software developer, librarian, and self-described data wrangler with seven years of experience working with special collections and institutional archivists.
