How will ArchiveGrid know where to link to for a delivery URL for your finding aid?

We're considering no longer using the "EAD location" field because we have no local use for it (right now we supply a URL for our finding aid), but before we stopped doing this, I thought I'd check to see if any of you are using it in useful ways.
